About The Event

Join us on Sat 25th November from 6pm at Rumi's Kitchen Harlesden, for an evening with a host of talented poets, singers, comedians and YOU!

Whether you're a a seasoned artist or first timer, you're welcome to take the mic and share your talents with our supportive audience, or come through just to listen!

This month is Islamophobia Awareness Month and considering the world at present, we invite attendees to reflect on the theme of Resistance and Words of Power. On the open mic, if you feel inclined to, you are also encouraged to share your favourite poems and songs reflecting the theme alongside your own work. We welcome pieces by Palestinian, Sudanese, Congolese and Tigrinya and examples of resistance you want to highlight. On the night we'll also be joined by two exciting Muslim artists!

As always, half our proceeds go towards Rumi's Cave & Soup Kitchen projects, where creativity and community go hand in hand. Doors and open mic sign up at 18:00 for a 18:30 start. Can't wait to see you there inshaAllah!
