About The Event
The importance of work on our mental health and wellbeing in today’s 24 hour work clock is fundamental. Where time is the new currency of money. We as employees are constantly stretched by companies, thinking how they can get the most out us. Performance and outcome are the prevailing messages filtered from top down. With human resources checking people’s delivery and productivity, rather then individual health and wellbeing. Monday to Friday is where we spend the majority of our lives in the workplace. The amount of time we have to connect with our families and friends is limited, and is a reflection of our time.
The main reason for absence from work is due to illnesses such as stress, anxiety and depression.
On the other spectrum work is also important for those with suffer from mental health and getting back into the work place. Connecting back into the community and routines of life. Thus work can also be beneficial to our mental health and wellbeing by being a part of something and by contributing to something.
We will explore both sides of this conversation.
It will be an interactive session so that we can look at shared experiences and context.
This is a free event!
