As part of this month’s theme of telling the other story, Rumi’s Cave invites you to meet filmmaker, Bassam Tariq, and participate general discussion. It will be art and idea exchange around the topics of developing stories and narratives in Britain and America.
Bassam Tariq will screen an upcoming short film that is an interrogation of the American Muslim experience. Afterwards, there will be an exchange around representation, heritage, media, art and faith....
Bassam is a writer and independent filmmaker based in New York. He is the creator of 30 Mosques in 30 Days and recently made the music video for Riz MC’s Mogambo. He is a TED Fellow and was named Filmmaker Magazine's "25 New Faces of Independent Film." His first feature film, THESE BIRDS WALK, was named one of the best foreign films of the 21st century by The New Yorker Magazine and is distributed by Oscilloscope Laboratories.
