About The Event

The importance of the Sunnah in the lives of Muslims today, cannot be underestimated. The Sunnah refers to the practices and the way of life portrayed by Prophet Muhammad. These practices display a necessary and vital role in the existence of a Muslim. The Sunnah presents principles, morals and the fine features of comprehending and applying Allah’s commands in the Qur’an and also to provide guidance for Muslims in understanding his leadership as a path to follow to obtain success in this world and the hereafter this is revealed in the Prophet Muhammad’s life.

The Sunnah provides Muslims with guidance about how to follow a lifestyle that adheres to the morals and values of the Islamic faith. These particular morals and principles are known to Muslims as Akhlaq.  The scholars of Islam state that it is not possible to posses knowledge without good manners and also that it is obvious that developing excellent manners is the first step in learning religion. The Prophet Muhammad also said "The best of you is the best among you in conduct." (Bukhari & Muslim).

Observing Sawm (Fasting) on Monday and Thursday is permissible. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Deeds of people are presented (to Allah) on Mondays and Thursdays. So I like that my actions be presented while I am fasting."
