About The Event
The Memory Project by Yōko Ogawa is by one of Japan’s greatest writers and recommended as one of the best fiction books of 2019 by the Guardian. The novel is set on an island where memories can be taken by the Memory Police. A young novelist attempts to save her editor from the same fate; however, those who are able to remember are interrogated and harassed, leaving readers to ponder on the power of memory and trauma of loss.
