1) Poetry workshop, Rakaya Fetuga 

Rakaya Fetuga is a Roundhouse Resident Artist 2019-20 and the Roundhouse Poetry Slam Winner 2018. Rakaya completed a Masters in Creative Writing at Royal Holloway, University of London and has performed across the UK and internationally. Her work joins conversations on overlapping identities, faith and culture as self-affirmation. Rakaya is  a member of ::nana::Poetry Collective

12-1pm Equipment needed: pen, paper/notebook.

2) Tajweed Workshop, Hana & Shafaq,

10-12pm,12+yrs

The workshop will take place in the prayer room on the 1st floor at Rumi's Cave.  It is all carpeted Floor  Seating. If a chair is needed contact organiser or make request on the day. A reserved space  will be kept upto 5 mins from the start of the workshop,otherwise space will be allocated to anyone waiting on the day at the discretion of the workshop hosts. Please arrive 10 mins early before start time.  The Quran's that will be used to read from will be the Uthmani script. Otherwise please bring your own copy of a Quran, pen, paper/notebook

4) Children’s Story and Nasheed , The Year of the Elephant,  Farhiya Sheikh

11-12pm

Join Farhiya Sheikh as she retells the story of the year of the elephant , the year the Prophet(pbuh) was born in. Suitable for children aged between 4-9 years old ,female adults can accompany the child if supervision is required.  Learn a nasheed about the year of the elephant. The children can perform the nasheed on stage at the mawlid in the afternoon, at the discretion of the parent/guardian . Please speak with workshop host regarding this matter.

5) Creative art for children, Tayyibah Ali
