Overview:
Rumi is the best selling poet in the western world, and interest in his work has grown in recent years. Rumi's Masnavi is perhaps the most famous classical spiritual text in Islam, and one of the most well known texts in Persian literature.
This course is designed to give people an insight into the deeper aspects of this profound work of spirituality. The text will be taught to help people to understand the nature of the spiritual quest in the 21st century, and will be taught regardless of the religious or philosophical affiliations of the student.
About Dr Ahmed Pirzada:
Having spent 15 years learning foundational sciences from spiritual masters, Dr Pirzada has received ijaza (permission) to teach students. He holds a PhD in the study of Islamic spiritual traditions. As a linguist, he has mastered Arabic, Farsi & Urdu, so the analysis in this class will be taken from the original Farsi and translated in session.
